Since Fall of 2022

Who We Are

Field Studies began in Fall 2022, building a vibrant, passionate community of students united by a love for outdoor adventure. Our members are dedicated to exploring California’s diverse landscapes and beyond, fostering friendships and unforgettable experiences along the way.

Our Mission

We create an inclusive outdoor community for students of all experience levels, breaking down barriers to nature through accessible opportunities for connection, growth, education, and skill-building.

Our Traditions

Since the very beginning, we have created custom patches for every trip we go on, with each member receiving one to commemorate the experience. Click here to check out some of the ones we have done so far!

Additionally, we foster connection and well-being through Wim Hof breathing, yoga sessions, campfire stories, bike nights, bonfires, and potluck meals!

Field Studies first hit the trails in Fall of 2022 with small groups of students and a big love for the outdoors. Word got out, and more students joined in, excited to share fresh air adventures with new friends!

As we grew, so did our ambitions. We constructed our gear shed, built a team, trained leaders, and exponentially grew the number of trips we put on. But at its core, our club stayed the same—a group of adventurers looking for good times, good views, and great stories.

We’re still writing this story, one excursion at a time. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just curious about what’s out there, there’s always room for more in our community!
